HISTORY

JOYTECH Europe Ltd was founded in 1996, offering gamers a range of quality video game accessories.

With a fresh approach to the design, manufacturer and distribution of peripherals, JOYTECH struck an immediate chord with gamers, resulting in the company becoming the largest supplier of third party video game accessories in the UK in 1998.

As JOYTECH's range grew, so did its reputation amid the gaming community with the company remaining the No.1 third party console peripherals manufacturer throughout 1998 and 1999.

Consistently at the forefront of innovation, JOYTECH aimed to release a full range of accessories for each major video game platform that launched. After satisfying gamer's accessory needs with peripherals for Dreamcast™, and PlayStation®2, in March 2001, JOYTECH released a comprehensive selection of peripherals for the Game Boy Advance SP™ console, gaining universal acclaim from both consumers and specialist press alike.

In early 2002, JOYTECH introduced an ambitious range of products for the launch of the Xbox™, and the Nintendo® GameCube™ consoles which provided gamers with a host of products as sophisticated as their host platforms.

2003 saw JOYTECH innovate further and bring to the market an exciting new range designed to bridge the gap between video game accessories and Home Entertainment. Their selection of AV products appealed both to gamers and AV enthusiasts alike, offering consumers' access to the very latest technology and cutting edge design at JOYTECH's ever popular value for money price point.

In 2005 JOYTECH proved itself more than capable to cope under the increasing demands placed upon it from the fast moving video game industry. With no less than four new console formats launching in the space of 12 months (Game Boy™ Micro, Nintendo® DS™, Sony®PSP™ and the Microsoft® Xbox 360™, JOYTECH were on hand for the launch of each format to satiate demand from an increasingly technology hungry audience.

For the launch of the Xbox 360™, JOYTECH were one of a select few third parties to be granted an Xbox 360™ peripheral license, expanding their range of accessories throughout 2006 and setting a new standard in licensed, value for money product.

Towards the end of 2006, JOYTECH introduced the Xbox 360™ Control Center 540C, a unique product received to high acclaim by critics and a product that truly appealed to AV and console audiences alike. JOYTECH was also amongst the first to deliver a range of Nintendo® Wii™ compatible products in time for the launch of the console.

Ending a year of frenzied activity, JOYTECH was proud to be the winning recipient of the ‘MCV Retail Survey 2006’ award, recognizing the company’s commitment to retail and customer service.

In 2007 JOYTECH entered the most exciting phase in its history to date when Mad Catz Europe Limited part of Mad Catz Inc, one of the world’s largest and most respected manufacturers of third-party interactive entertainment accessories acquired the company. Sharing similar goals and aspirations, JOYTECH is proud to continue offering gamers everywhere quality, innovation and value for money as part of the Mad Catz family.

With new products destined for all leading formats including the Sony® PlayStation®3, the Nintendo® Wii™, Xbox 360™ and continuing developments in the handheld sector, JOYTECH look forward to further strengthening their commitment to the gaming and AV community through the continued introduction of ‘State of the Art’ products that will amaze, enthuse, and delight.
